Recommended Books

Heaven's Brightest Star by Kara M. Glad
"This preemie book is a wonderful resource for children who have lost a sibling due to premature birth. It is the story of little Katie, who is happily waiting to become a big sister. She is surprised and nervous when her little brother is born prematurely. She visits him in the NICU and shares a touch and a red balloon. Sadly her little brother dies, and the story concludes with her making him a sweet card. This story is accurate and well told from a child's perspective. A great resource for families, libraries, hospitals, therapists, social workers and support groups." (Allison Martin)

Order A Grace Disguised

A Grace Disguised, by Gerald Sittser. "A truly wonderful book on grief. I highly recommend it.  It is from a Christian perspective, but there is a lot of really good insight on grieving even if you are not a Christian." (Rachel Browne)

A Silent Sorrow: Pregnancy Loss - Guidance and Support for You and Your Family, by Ingrid Kohn, Perry-Lynn Moffitt, and Isabelle A. Wilkins. Encouragement for those who suffer from loss due to miscarriage or death of a new born baby, this comprehensive and well written book covers all the aspects of grief acceptance and recovery. Excellent. (Allison Martin)
